A Funeral Service for James V. Jewell of Flippin, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastors Mark Ragsdale and Bobby Copeland officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3, 2014, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at the Funeral Home.
James passed away November 30, 2014, in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 70. He was born July 6, 1944, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the son of Glenn and Vergie Jewell. James worked as a auto mechanic and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. James lived in Flippin since 2010, moving from Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He enjoyed spending time with family and driving.
James is survived by his three sons, Keith (Jennifer) Jewell of New Albany, IN, Jamie Jewell of Bernie, MO and Jimmy Jewell of Bernie, MO; four daughters, Kimberly (Randy) Smith of St. Louis, MO, LaDawna Jewell of Bernie, MO, Kayla (Shawn) Benedict of Gassville, AR and Rebecca (Mike) Winkleman of Flippin, AR; two sisters, Corabell (Eddie) Lee and Imagene (Lloyd) Baldridge and brother, Glenn Lloyd Jewell all of Poplar Bluff, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Eugene, Benny, Harold and Hershel and a sister, Dorothy.
Burial will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR, with Jamie Jewell, Shawn Benedict, Jimmy Jewell, Nathan Smith, Michael Winkleman and Michael Alverson as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
