James "Jim" Roger Peabody

April 27, 1943 — December 25, 2017

James R. Peabody, 74, of Mountain Home, Arkansas died December 25, 2017, at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born April 27, 1941, to Laurence and Audrey (Menton) Peabody in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty (Bets) of Mountain Home, AR; one sister: Kathy (Lee) Kurschner of Mound View, MN; two brothers, Fritz (Helen) Peabody of Menomonie, WI and Edwin (Sharon) Peabody of Eau Claire, WI; three step-children: Gary (Tammy) Gardner of Nevada, IA, Gwen (Tom) Rein of Fort Worth, TX and Gail (Greg) Gioffredi of Des Moines, IA; seven step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was employed by 3M for 35 plus years in research and troubleshooting. He owned his body shop and auto repair business in Roberts, WI for 20 plus years. Jim and Bets spent several years traveling the U.S. with their horses and riding trails and spending their winters in Arizona. While in Arizona, Jim was active in Heart Cry Cowboy Church, serving on the Friendship Team, volunteering at the Home of Hope, and helping with the Team Roping. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jim was a proud, hard-working man and enjoyed his retirement. Jim and Bets were members of Bar None Cowboy Church in Arkansas. Jim was a member of the Mountain Home Lions Club.

Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Bar None Cowboy Church or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
