James Loyola "Loy" Dames of Flippin, Arkansas, passed away June 27, 2022, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. He was born October 21, 1929, in O'Fallon, Missouri, the son of Omar and Madeline McAtte Dames. He married Marion "MJ" Reynolds on January 13, 1996, in Phoenix, AZ and worked as a Mechanic for Vic Koepke. Loy was a U.S. Army veteran of Korean War. He lived in Flippin since moving from Phoenix in 2000. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Yellville, AR and the Knights of Coumbus. He loved to dance, especially square dancing, hanging out and volunteering at the Marion County Senior Center and sharing the bounty of his garden with his neighbors.
James is survived by his wife, Marion "MJ" Dames of Flippin, AR; sister, Laura Mudd of Silex, MO; brother, George (Millie) Dames of O'Fallon, MO; best friend Toby Foster of Flippin, AR and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.
A Celebration of Life for James will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bull Shoals, AR, with Heather Marsalis, Celebrant officiating. Memorials may be made to the Marion County Senior Center.
