James McIntyre was born September 29, 1921 in Scotland. He was the son of John and Isabella Marshall McIntrye. He married Evelyn Low on February 14, 1945 in Newburgh, Scotland. He was a retired commercial artist. He served in the United States Air Force as a navigator, 1st Lieutenant during World War II. He and his wife resided in Glen Ellyn, Illinois before moving to Mountain Home in 1991. He was an avid bagpiper who played at several events in Baxter County in the last few years. His memberships included: Glen Ellyn Lodge #950 A.F. & A.M., Royal Arch Masons, Knights Templar, Medinah Temple, Twin Lakes Shrine Club and the Royal Order of Scotland. He was a member of the Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church. James McIntyre passed away at Good Samaritan Village on August 2, 2005, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 3 days. Survivors: Wife of fifty years, Evelyn McIntyre of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son, Murray James (Adele) McIntyre of Deer Lodge, Montana; daughter, Diane B.
