Memorial Services for James Thomas Mellard of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Twin Lakes Church of the Nazarene, with Reverend Brian Jones and Reverend George Petry officiating. James died Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 71. He was born May 29, 1940, in Marked Tree, Arkansas, the son of James H. and Ruby Dent Mellard. He graduated from Memphis State University in 1962 with a Bachelor?s Degree in Industrial Design. He married Sara Hill on March 22, 1969, at Conway, Arkansas. He worked as an engineer for Yale Industrial Products. James Mellard was a U.S. Army Reservist for 8 years. James lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since December 2005, moving from Forrest City, Arkansas. He was a history buff and enjoyed hunting, fishing and "tinkering". James is survived by his wife, Sara of Mountain Home; 2 daughters, Laura (Wayne) Monroe of Conway, AR and Penny (Nathen) Rogers of Jonesboro, AR; 2 sisters, Etta (George) Browder and Brenda (James) Anderson both of Germantown, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Ronnie. Memorials may be made to the Twin Lakes Church of the Nazarene or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
