James E. Miller, of Bull Shoals, AR peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. James, known to all as ?Jim? was 78 years old. Graveside services with military honors will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 2:00pm at Kirby-Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Donnie Hudson officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 20, 2012, from 4:00pm - 6:30pm at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals. Jim was born June 1, 1933 at Mill Creek, OK to Jerome and Vitus Toon Miller. He married the love of his life, Retha Gore on November 5, 1954. Jim proudly served in the US Navy for 22 years before retiring and pursuing a career as a Finance and Insurance Manager with GMAC. A man of integrity and honor, Jim was known to be a very quiet yet very wise man. He was devoted to his loving wife and to his children. An avid fisherman, Jim loved the outdoors. His fondest memories were the times he spent fishing with his wife. He enjoyed auto mechanics and was known to be able to fix or do anything he set his mind to doing. Jim was an active member of Bull Shoals United Methodist Church. He served as president and member of the Church Council, Men?s Club and sang in the church choir. He is survived by his daughter Teresa Miller of Bull Shoals, his brother Tommy (Kathie) Miller of Hobbs, NM, nephew Sam (Judy) Orr and niece Mary (Larry) Wisdom, both of Mill Creek, OK. Brother-in-law Burt (Shirley) Gore of Holiday Island, several nieces & nephews and his special feline friend, Max. He was preceded in death by his wife Retha, son Mike, 4 sisters, 1 brother and his parents. Please join us as we show our love and respect to a man who will be missed dearly.
