James Earl Mulkey

A Celebration of Life for James Earl Mulkey of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Saturday, November 12, 2016, at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mica Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and the United States Army Honor Guards.

James passed away November 8, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 78. He was born July 20, 1938, in Thayer, Missouri, the son of Earl Adelbert and Nevah Mae Goans Mulkey. He married Hazel Crider Mulkey on December 9, 1959 in Kennett, Missouri, she preceded him in death. He married Diane Swayze on June 25, 2000, in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. He graduated with the Thayer Class of 1956 and served in US Army, worked for the FBI, Frisco Railroad, AAA insurance and retired from Heil Beauty Supply.

James is survived by his wife, Diane Mulkey of Mountain Home, Ark; children: Suzanne Smith, West Plains, Mo.; Terri Barretto, husband Prakash, Centerton, Ark.; Daniel Mulkey, wife Carrie, West Plains, Mo.; Teresa Grigg, husband Derek, Ozark, Mo.; Jennifer E. Mayo, husband Jason, Frisco, Texas and Steven O'Neil, fiancée, Maggie Mae, LaSalle-Peru, Ill.; grandchildren: Ryan Mardock, Savanna Mardock, Morgan Barretto, Nathan Barretto, Tayden Barretto, Kristianne Mulkey, Stephen Mulkey, Jordan Grigg, Shiloh Grigg, Faith Grigg, Samuel Graves, Jason O'Neil, Jaysienna O'Neil and Josh O'Neil; siblings: Jerry Mulkey, Orlando, Fl. and Linda Mulkey, Thayer, Mo; sisters-in-law, Julie Bazor, Martha Casey, Scott and Teresa Estes, David and Rene Estes, Dean and Ramona Estes, Troy and Carol Richardson, and Roy Dale Estes; and many other nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Hazel Mulkey; son-in-law, Frank Smith; sisters-in-law, Jackie Key and Mary Estes; brother-in-law, Buddy Casey; mothers-in-law, Margie Thomas and Franny Stottelmyer, father-in-law, Porter Stottelmyer and step-father-in-law Leonard Mitchell.

Memorials may be made to the family or Hospice of the Ozarks.
