James Riggs

J.C. died August 29, 2008 at home with his family surrounding him. He was 82 years old. J. C. was born at Lead Hill, Arkansas to Lonnie and Della Riggs. He married Berna King on September 14, 1947 at Peel, Arkansas. J.C. was a homebuilder. He was a World War II Veteran of the Navy. J. C. had lived in Fairview since 1963. J.C. was known for his garden. He loved to fish, squirrel hunt and tinker with his wood projects. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never let anyone leave without making them smile. He was a life member of the Hoevel-Barnett Post#1341. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Berna, his three sons James(Bertie) of Lakeview, Jimmy of Bull Shoals, and Doyan of Fairview, his daughter Cleta Almond of Bull Shoals and his grandchildren Quentin Riggs of Fairview, Keela Dilday(Tim) of Midway, Kristi Kilgore(Devin) of Bull Shoals, Leslie Harp(Greg) of Fairview, Erin Born(Jeff) of Mayflower, Jason Riggs of Rogers, Katie Riggs of Mayflower and Kyle Riggs(Brittney) of Mountain Home, six great grandchildren and many nieces and newphews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Visitation: Visitation will be 5-7PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral: A funeral service for J.C. Riggs of Fairview, Arkansas will be at 10AM Wednesday September 3 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals with Orville Mears officiating. Burial: Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks. Honorary Bearers: Honorary Pallbearers will be James Alvin Riggs, Brock Riggs, Gene Fisher, Steve Riggs, Wayne Almond, Mike Gore and Hobert King. Active Bearers: Jason Riggs, Kyle Riggs, Devin Kilgore, Quentin Riggs, Greg Harp, Tim Dilday and Jeff Born as Pallbearers.
