James Linden Rowe, 86, of Midway passed away May 22, 2015, at home. Jim was born April 7, 1929, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Bertha (Weaver) Rowe and Jessie James Rowe. He married Reba Faye Lemonds, who predeceased him in 1979. Jim served in the U.S. Navy and then worked as an electrician for the cities of Naperville, Illinois and Mesa, Arizona before retiring to the Mountain Home area in 1989. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1714 BPOE and served as Exalted Ruler from 1998 to 1999.
Jim is survived by his loving companion of 33 years, Phyllis M. Schramm; his children, James Michael Rowe (Sue) and Brenda Faye Collins (Phil, deceased); his extended family, Cindy Nelmes, Bev Lopez (Ruben) and Scott Schramm (Joni); his brother, Charles Rowe (Maggie); 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herman "Ed" Rowe (Pat) and son, Gary Alan Rowe (Debbi).
Cremation rites were arranged by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Elks Lodge #1714 BPOE , Mountain Home with Reverend Nancy Taylor officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 and U.S. Navy Honor Guards.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, Mountain Home.
