James S. Scanlan, Sr., was born May 12, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Samuel James and Katherine Aubert Scanlan. He was married to the late Jeanette Scanlan. Mr. Scanlan served with the United States Army during World War II. He was employed as a truck driver with Grane Trucking Company for twenty-seven years. Mr. Scanlan moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho from Mountain Home, Arkansas in May, 2004. He was past commander of Henry A. Honack VFW Post #1588 in Chicago, Illinois from 1965-1966; and a member of Teamsters Local #705 in Chicago, Illinois. James S. Scanlan, Sr. passed away December 19, 2005, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 7 days. Survivors: Three daughters, Diane Scanlan of Nixa, Missouri, Carolann Sellers of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Lizabeth Nolan of Arlington Heights, Illinois; two sons, James S. Scanlan, Jr. of Norwalk, California and Robert Scanlan of South Elgin, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rita in Chicago, Illinois, Flossie Weisend in Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Pat in South Carolina; and seveal nieces and nephews Preceded in Death by: Parents, wife, and ten brothers and sisters Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2005 Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2005, Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with military honors provided by the North Central Arkansas Veteran's Council.
