James Russell Wencker

Mountain Home

James "Jim" Russell Wencker of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away February 2, 2025, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born December 25, 1942, in Saint Louis, Missouri, the son of Russell and Martha Westover Wencker. James was a U.S. Navy veteran. He married Joy Irgang on July 30, 1966, in St. Louis, Missouri and was a Fishery Biologist, working with the fish hatchery. James lived in Mountain Home since moving from St. Louis. He enjoyed fishing, bow hunting and modern gun. James enjoyed church services and serving others in all aspects of life. He was know for his affection towards others. 


James is survived by his wife, Joy Sandra Wencker of Mountain Home, AR; two daughters, Sandra (Gary) Samis, and Jennifer Burris; and three grandchildren, Wyatt, Parker, and Sarah.


He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Ernst Wencker; mother, Martha Virginia Wencker; and two sisters, Joyce Macey and Anita Foelsch. 


A private burial will be held in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy and Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guards.


Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Jim.
