A Memorial Service for Jan I. Price of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jimmie Snow officiating.
Jan passed away August 23, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 65. She was born October 25, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Curtis and Betty Kelsey Sr. She was a journalist for Lake River Times and KTLO radio, as well as owned her own advertising agency. Jan lived in the Mountain Home area off and on for 40 years, moving from Springdale, Arkansas. She loved sewing and monogramming, especially for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cooking delicious homemade meals and catering for the Shady Grove Country Store, which she co-owned and managed, was a great passion of Jan’s.
Jan is survived by her son, Paul Price of Norfork, Arkansas; daughter, Lora Price of Bella Vista, Arkansas; daughter, Dawn Ashcraft of Mountain Home, Arkansas; best friend and business partner, Dr. Carolyn Wilson of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and five grandchildren, Cooper Price, Hannah Price, Jake Price, Bailey Price, and Lilli Kate Ashcraft; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
