Jennifer passed away November 10, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 63. She was born November 14, 1951, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Robert and Joy King Vogel. She was raised in a strong Christian family in northern Colorado and attended the University of Northern Colorado where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She married Kenneth A. Jones, M.D., on January 29, 1977, in Metairie, Louisiana. They moved to Mountain Home in 1987 from Riverside, California. Jennifer was a registered nurse in the Women’s Center at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
She touched many lives throughout her career as a nurse, as a volunteer in the surrounding schools, and by serving on medical mission trips to Romania and Honduras. She sought out every opportunity to share her love for Jesus with others. Her role as a Christian was most important in her life and her never-wavering faith was an inspiration to others. She led many people to Christ and always sought Him first in all things.
Jennifer also cherished her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always happiest when surrounded by family whether at home on the lake, on vacations to the Colorado Rockies, or visiting relatives in Sweden.
Her career as a nurse was a great source of pride and she was well respected by her peers. She began her career as a pediatric and emergency department nurse at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. For the last 25 years, she belonged to a close-knit group of doctors and labor and delivery nurses who brought many residents of the Mountain Home area into this world.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Kenneth A. Jones, M.D., of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, Eric (Thu) Jones of Saigon, Vietnam and Peter Jones of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Alexis (C.J.) Neff of Arlington, TN; mother, Joy Vogel of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Andrew Neff and Michael Jones; brother, Robert (Kathy) Vogel of Louisville, KY; and sister, Susan (Stan) White of Brighton, CO.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service and burial will be held at the United States Air Force Academy Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado at a time and date to be determined.
