Jerry Deal died Saturday, December 20, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 22 days. He was born Thursday, August 28, 1930 in Wasco, California, son of Kenneth M. and Meda (Marikle) Deal, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He married Elmina "Kit" NeSmith on July 4, 1954 in Tempe, Arizona, and worked 23 years as a Cable Locater for Pacific Telephone in California. Jerry lived in Mountain Home for 3 years, moving from Lake Isabella, California. He was a regular "Rube Goldberg", building dune buggies from Corvairs, travel campers and trailers, and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed travel, hunting, and camping. An antique car enthusiast, he lovingly restored the 1933 Chevrolet Master Coach that his father had bought new. Survivors: Mr. Deal is survived by his wife, "Kit" Deal of Mountain Home; AR, son, David (Tina) Deal of Canton, OH; daughter, Debbie (Pat) Callen of Mountain Home, AR; granddaughters, Rochelle (Rowan) Dunn and Lindsay (Jason) Kincade; grandsons, Kenneth (Jessica) Deal, Seth (Amber) Deal, and Chandler Deal, great-grandchildren, Bryce Kincade and Micha Deal; brother, Gene (Alice) Deal of Tulelake, CA, and many nieces and nephews.
