A Memorial Service for Jerry Owen Martin of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Friday, April 13, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. David Shipley officiating. A Gathering of Friends will be from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Jerry passed away April 8, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 71. He was born February 17, 1941, in Shell Knob, Missouri, the son of John Felix and Cora Belle Yochum Martin. He married Jean McLeskey Norman on July 21, 1979, at Mountain Home, Arkansas and worked as a mechanic. Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran and lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since the early 1970's, moving from Galena, Missouri. He was a long time member of the Riverlake Bowling leagues. Jerry is survived by his wife, Jean Martin; son, Jerry (Julie) Martin Jr., of Paragould, AR; step-son, Bret (Suzette) Norman, of Clarendon, AR; two step-daughters, Sherray (Steve) Shipley and Tammy (Gary) Hensley, both of Mountain Home, AR; two brothers, Jim (Teresa) Martin of Galena, MO and Jessie (Rene) Martin of Ft. Payne, AL; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Alice and brother, Joe Martin. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to CMC Hospice, 400 South College, Suite 2, Mountain Home, AR 72653. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
