Jesse Gifford was born Tuesday, July 8, 1919 in Newburg, Arkansas, the son of Joseph F. and Bessie Evans Gifford. He married Charlotte Florence Botts on June 28, 1974 at Norfork, Arkansas. He worked as a Street Maintainence Worker for the City of Mountain Home. Jesse was a life Resident of Mountain Home until 2005 when he moved to Ft. Smith. He loved to play country music on the steel guitar. He died Friday, February 6, 2009 in Ft. Smith, AR at the age of 89. Survivors: Jesse Gifford is survived by his son, Larry Gifford of Clinton, AR, 2 daughters, Donna Knight of Farmington, AR and Connie (Jim Bob) Ellis of Ft. Smith, AR, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and sister, Neoma Whitaker of Melbourne, AR. Preceded in Death by: His parents, wife, 1 son, Virlin, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation: From 5-7 P.M., Tuesday, February 10 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating Burial: Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home, AR. Memorials: North Central Arkansas Humane Society or Hospice of the Ozarks.
