Jesse Prince

d. August 11, 2005

Jesse Lee Prince was born February 18th, 1926 in Valiant, Oklahoma. He was the son of Jesse Lee Prince Sr., and Edna Wehunt. Mr. Prince served in the Merchant Marines in both the Pacific and European theater of operations during World War II. He was an electrician by trade, and a fifty year active member of the I.B.E.W. Local 1547 Alaska. Mr. Prince played a part in the construction of the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline. It was while in Alaska that he met his future wife Margia. They married December 27, 1974 in Anchorage, Alaska. Living and working there for forty-three years, Alaska came to be a special place to him. He was an avid skier and fisherman who often took advantage of the Alaskan frontier for these pursuits. Along with his membership in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Jesse was also a Mason, a member of the Elks Lodge, the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, and member of the Twin Lakes Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling the country with his wife and the occasional stray family member along the way. He came close to visiting all fifty states in this country whose leaders he regularly prayed for; not to mention the countless times he traveled the length of the Al-Can Highway. A very spiritual person, Jesse made many friends along the road of life and was happy to share his love of the Gospel with any and all. Soon after moving to Mountain Home, Jesse made a name for himself in the neighborhood with his daily walks, always taking the time to talk and greet his friends and neighbors.
