Jessie Foster, Jr.

Jessie Foster, age 86, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on March 18, 2025. Born on March 25, 1938, in Ravenden, Arkansas, he was the son of Jess and Ruby Carson Foster. Jess proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army. On September 1, 1960, he married Mary Sutterfield, and together they built a family filled with love and memories. Jess dedicated his career to being a truck driver and found great joy in the simple pleasures of life such as fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Mary (Marvin) Wimsatt, of Mountain Home, AR, as well as six grandchildren: Jason (Lora) Stone, Jessy Stone, Brandy (Joe) Jones, Jimmy (Alicia) Wimsatt, Candace (Rock) Mutchler, and Melanie Smith. Jess also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy. He is survived by three brothers, Charles, Jackie, and Alonzo (Sandy) Foster, along with four sisters, Helen Stubelt, Theresa (Donald) Manning, Joyce Foster, and Bobbie Ann Woods.

Jess was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen Foster; his daughter, Neva June Smith; his parents; five brothers, Troy, William, Cecil, Jimmy, and David Foster; as well as his sister, Dolly Chapman.

A Graveside Funeral Service honoring Jess will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Arkana Cemetery, with Pastor Shannon Byrd officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and United States Army Honor Guards. Arrangements are entrusted to Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
