Jessie Manuel died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Gassville at the age of 82. He was born Tuesday, March 8, 1927 in Galena, Kansas, the son of Jessie Elbert and Verna Arnold Manuel. He married Geraldine Parsons on May 19, 1962 at Golcondo, Illinois and worked as a Welder and Aircraft Mechanic for J.R. Simplot. Jessie Manuel was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Jessie lived in Gassville since 1971 moving from Springfield, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and animals. He liked to barter and trade. Survivors: Jessie Manuel is survived by his wife, Geraldine Manuel, 1 son, Carry Manuel of Mountain Home, AR, 5 daughters, Janice Elaine (Tim) Wyatt, Jeanne Elizabeth (David) Sutterfield, Jackie Elieen (Robert) Griffin all of Mountain Home, AR, Jessie Evelyn Broussard of Gassville, AR and Janet Evon Manuel of Yellville, AR, 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and his pet and buddy, Rowdy. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Jennifer Chick, 1 brother, 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral: Memorial services for Jessie Elbert Manuel of Gassville, Arkansas, will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 18, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jim Cox officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the S.I.D.S. Foundation.
