Joan Adeline (Swette) Patz of Gassville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2021, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. She was born June 2, 1934, in Coleman, Wisconsin, the daughter of Earl and Julia (Venne) Swette. She married Wallace Patz on September 26, 1952. She greatly enjoyed crocheting for the children's hospital, gardening, canning, picking wild berries to make jams and jellies, and cooking. She and her husband loved traveling. Together they enjoyed their retirement going to places like Mount Rushmore and Florida. They also spent time together at their cabin in the woods hunting, enjoying family gatherings and the wilderness. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Cindy Salentine, Diane Serio, Jessica Frank, and Judy (Todd) Lunde, and; daughter-in-law, Sue Patz; son, Greg (Yvonne) Patz; sister, Lynn Swette; brother, Larry Swette; and grandsons, Matt and Drew Lunde, Mark and Micheal Salentine, and David Patz; granddaughters Erica Adams (Kevin), Julia Serio, Stephanie Lunde, and Christa Patz; and great grandchildren, Charlie and Quinn in Arkansas, and many more in Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons, Chris and Gerald Patz; daughter-in-law, Shawna (Bentley) Patz; sister, Laverna (Don) Petitjean; brothers, Earl Swette, Milton Swette; and granddaughter, Ashely Patz.
A Vigil service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Coleman, Wisconsin with Reverend Nonito Barra. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Coleman, Wisconsin.
