Mrs. Joellen Bramsen

Joellen Bramsen was born in Boone, IA to Virgil Clabaugh and Alberta Petrie Clabaugh. She lived in Klemme, IA until her high school graduation. Joellen worked in Mason City, IA as a finance officer with Home Federal Savings and Loan for 22 years. She and her husband Duane Bramsen retired to Gainesville, MO. For seven years they owned and operated a convenient store. Joellen was a volunteer with VFW and AARP.

She is predeceased in death by her parents; husband Duane Bramsen; and son Danny Groves.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Patricia Newman, Omaha, NE and Perry and Kelly Groves, Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Robert and Emily Newman; Ashley, Jennifer and Michael Groves; Danny Jr. and Jason Groves; “honorary daughter” Robin Spindler, Omaha, NE. By her siblings: Karen (Ronald) Knudtson, Mason City, IA; Sherry Myers, Mesa, AZ; Bill (Roxanna) Clabaugh, Moor Park, CA ; Gary Clabaugh, Klemme, IA; Roma (Mike) Schaefer, Ankeny, IA. Also by her step children: Bill Bramsen, Manly, IA; Linda Ellman, Mason City, IA; Butch (Vicki) Bramsen, Mason City, IA and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Joellen and Duane were part of the original Volunteer Fire Department, Timber Knob. A memorial lunch will take place at the Fire House, noon, Sunday, March 22. Graveside memorial services will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Thornton, IA, May 2nd at 3 p.m.
