John Brown

John Brown died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 81. He was born Tuesday, February 1, 1927 in Marion County, Arkansas, the son of Jewell Garland and Ella Mae Foster Brown. He married Yurie Fujikawa on January 5, 1954 at Toyko, Japan. He worked as a Department of the Army Civilian Employee for the American Embassy in Tokyo. John Brown was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. John lived in Mountain Home since 1994 moving from Tokyo, Japan. He enjoyed fishing, public speaking and was a member of Toastmasters in Tokyo. He also enjoyed collecting coins. Survivors: John Brown is survived by his wife, Yurie Brown and brother, Leon (Frances) Brown of New York, NY, sister, Farl (Norman) Knisely of Toledo, OH, 3 cousins, Sharon (Don) Farris of Mountain Home, AR, Beverly (Jay) Fountain of Harrison, AR, Connie Jo Sharp, of CA. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral: Funeral services for John A. Brown of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:30 P.M. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Max Pyron officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Patton Cemetery, Pyatt, Arkansas.
