John Robert Chrenko passed away on December 7, 2008 at the age of 79. He was born on December 19,1928 in Stirling, New Jersey to Michael and Susan Chrenko. He married Ruth Comiskey on October 30, 1954 in Gillette, New Jersey and was employed by Lockheed Electronics in Shipping & Receiving. He and his family moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1968 where he worked as a licensed electrician. John was a Boy Scout leader for over 50 years, and was actively involved in Scripture Studies at St. Peter's Catholic Church. He also volunteered for Catholic Missions in Belize, Central America, served as a Peace Corp volunteer in Slovakia and was involved with the building of the Mountain Home Christian Clinic. Survivors: John is survived by his wife Ruth Chrenko of Mountain Home and children Stephanie Clark of Mountain Home; Raymond Chrenko of Nashville, TN; Susan Blumreich & husband Steve of Springfield, MO; Michael Chrenko of Mountain Home; Diane Becker & husband Rich of Jonesboro, AR; John Chrenko, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother Richard Chrenko of Glen, New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded In death by his parents, 1 brother, Raymond and 1 sister, Betty. Visitation: Visitation will be at Kirby Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 9 between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral: A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. for John Robert Chrenko, who passed away on December 7, 2008 at the age of 79.
