John D. Demand was born April 20, 1919 in Pilot Knob, Missouri. He was the son of John J. and Margaret Miller Demand. He married Maxine Webb on July 21, 1940 in Herculinum, Missouri. They moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1984 after he retired as local manager of AP&L in Monette, Arkansas with a thirty year service record. Mr. Demand served with the United States Navy during WWII as a Pharmacist's Mate 2nd Class aboard the USS Curtis in the South Pacific and survived a kamakasi attack during 1945 operations. He was a member of American Legion Post 52, Ozark Post 3246, and a charter member serving three terms as Commander of the Ironton VFW Post 5527 in Ironton, Missouri. He was a member of the Methodist Church. John D. Demand passed away September 12, 2005, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 18 days.
