John Lloyd Dennis, retired MoPac Engineer caught the train to heaven for his last ride on Thursday, April 19, 2007 in Gassville. John Lloyd Dennis was born March 23, 1921 at Glenmora Rapids Parish, Louisana to George David and Louella Ellen Traughber Dennis, Sr. He served in the U.S. Army for five years as a supervisor on the Alcan Highway in Alaska and Canada. He moved to Arkansas in 1937 and retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad after 43 years of service. Survivors: two daughters; Sean Dennis (& Partner Pam Bruzzichesi) , of Gassville and Kelly Pekarek of Leavenworth, Kansas. Two grandchildren; Brandon Frydendall and Miranda Spears, one brother; Louis E. "Cajun" Dennis of Cotter and one sister; Minnie Grace McCullah of Branson West, Missouri. Preceded in Death by: his parents, two brothers and four sisters. Visitation: from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday, April 22, 2007. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Cotter with Pastor Will Minick officiating. Burial: Walnut Hill Cemetery, Cotter, Arkansas.
