John Gillham

January 13, 1921 — November 16, 2006

A memorial service for John Carroll Gillham, 85, of Mountain Home will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 20 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Reverend Kenneth Taglauer officiating. Military honors will be by the North Central Arkansas Veterans Council with honor guard by Alley-White American Legion Post #52. Mr. Gillham died Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Baxter Regional Medical Center. John Carroll Gillham was born January 13, 1921, at Spencer, Iowa, to Charles and Amanda Lundgren Gillham. He married Pearl Ritland on August 16, 1941, at Chicago, Illinois. He was an electrician and WWII Navy veteran. Mr. Gillham lived in Mountain Home since moving from Chicago in 1977. He was a member of VFW Post #3246, the USS LCI National Association, Twin Lakes Gun Club, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Mr. Gillham is survived by his wife, Pearl Gillham of Mountain Home; two sons, Kenneth (Claudia) Gillham of Chicago and Charles (Sandra) Gillham of Skokie, Illinois; one daughter, Sandra (Mike) Jackson of Burlington, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
