John Gresham

John Fred Gresham was born February 28, 1916 in Bernice, Louisiana. He was the son of John R. and Fannie O'Bannon Gresham. He married Doris Stephens on October 4, 1939 in Smackover, Arkansas. He was an ARKLA Gas manager for forty-seven years and a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of the ARKLA Retirees, Silver Haired Legislature, VFW and American Legion of Hope, and a past Rotarian of Hope Rotary Club. Mr. Gresham was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church. John Fred Gresham passed away at Good Samaritan Village on July 15, 2005, at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 17 days. Survivors: Wife, Doris Gresham; son, John "Rip" (Carol) Gresham of Mountain Home, Arkansas; daughter, Linda Kay (Terry) Cleghorn; grandchildren, Matt Gresham, Gil and Chris Carpenter and Lee Ann Cleghorn; five great- grandchildren and two nephews Preceded in Death by: Parents, one brother and one sister Visitation: A "Gathering of Friends" will be held following the service at the Fellowship Hall. Funeral: Memorial services for John Fred Gresham of Mountain Home, Arkansas (formerly of Sherwood) will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2005 at Park Hill Christian Church in North Little Rock with Reverend Linda White officiating.
