A Memorial Service for John Robert "Bob" Hamm of Henderson, Arkansas, will be 1:00 pm, Friday, April 28, 2017, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Larry Ring officiating.
Bob passed away April 23, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born February 9, 1931, in Buffalo, New York, the son of Ray and Minerva Johnston Hamm. In his younger years, he was a musician and leader of a big band He married Millie Jacobs in 1950, in Buffalo, New York. He moved from New York to Ohio, and then to Illinois, where he was a Marketing Director for United Technologies Inc. He married Naicia Wood on November 1, 1987, in Rockford, Illinois and retired to the Twin Lakes area in 1988. He supported the Ozark Choral Society, enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling the world, and always had a dog around. Bob was a driving force to build the Cotter-Gassville Rural Fire Department. After Naicia passed away, he attended a grief group where he met Pat Turner. Together, they attended Viola Baptist Church.
Bob is survived by his fiancé, Pat Turner of Henderson, AR; one son, Bill Hamm of Rockford, IL; four daughters, Carol (Richard) Fisher of Rockford, IL, Donna (Gary) Mitchell of Holland, MI, Naicia (Steve) Miner of Malta, IL and Michelle (Erik) Gehrke of Antioch, IL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and sister, Marcia (Gerry) Kmack of Pagosa Springs, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wives, Millie Hamm and Naicia Hamm.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
