John died Monday, September 26, 2011, at Pine Lane Healthcare, at the age of 89. He was born December 9, 1921 in Bancroft, Nebraska, the son of John and Wilma Renner Howard. He married Ellen Brockmann February 17, 1953, at Tijuana, Mexico. John Howard was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and Korea. He was a B26 pilot during WWII. He worked as a retail salesperson and lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1992 moving from Minnesota.
John is survived by his wife, Ellen Howard of Mountain Home; son, Richard (Norrine) Howard of Stillwater, MN; brother, Ray (Shirley) Howard of Thurston, NE; 2 sisters, MayDee Stoltzman of West Point, NE and Addie (Paul) Bjorgen of Grand Rapids, MN; 2 Grandchildren, Gregg (Jenise) Howard of Stillwater, MN and Lisa Alton of Forest Lake, MN; 3 great-grandchildren, Gage Alton, Maya and Lauren Howard; and many relatives in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
