John "Jack" Thomas Krug, Sr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away December 17, 2024, at his home, at the age of 99. He was born July 11, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Clifford and Marcella McGreevy Krug. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. After his time in the service, he worked for National Cash Register. On April 12, 1947, Jack married his childhood sweetheart, Rose Ann Meyer. The couple lived in Mountain Home since moving from Dayton, Ohio in 1970. Jack owned and operated Rocky Ridge Resort and worked as an insurance agent for Prudential. He was a devoted member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and served as a Deacon for many years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and photographing flowers. He truly embodied the name, Jack of all trades.
Jack is survived by his four sons, Nicholas Krug, Christopher Krug, Philip Krug, and Paul Krug; three daughters, Cathy Welch, Mary Tolleson, and Ann Leadingham; 29 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and 19 great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 72 years, Rose Ann Krug; siblings, Tom Krug, Dick Krug, and Marilyn Hollen; son, John Krug, Jr.; daughters, Cynthia Faro, and Paula McCullough; sons-in-law, Steve McCullough, and Tim Leadingham; grandsons, Timothy "Job" Leadingham, and Joshua Welch; and granddaughters, Lisa Hartley, and Jeanna Guffey.
Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2024, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary/Prayer Vigil at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 21, 2024, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Orion Reuscher, Kevin Hartley, Brian Krug, Tony Krug, Cory Welch, Lee Tolleson, Gabriel Bentley, Andrew Leadingham and Ryan Krug, as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and United States Army Honor Guards.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, 811 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
