John “Jay” Shain Shoemaker, Jr., 32 of Yellville, AR, gained his wings due to a stroke, on May 10, 2023 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR with his family by his side. He was born May 2, 1991 at Fort Meyers, FL. Jay graduated from Valley Springs High School in 2009. Jay attended North Arkansas College for autobody and took EMT courses. He was a volunteer firefighter and first responder for Valley Springs Fire Department for several years. He started his roofing company in Yellville in 2020. Jay was an amazing son, loving father and husband. He was a protective, loving brother and the coolest uncle ever. He touched so many lives, helped anyone in need, expecting nothing in return. He had the kindest soul, biggest heart, quick witted tongue, and the most beautiful smile you have ever seen. He was dedicated and loyal to his family and friend, and had a fierce protectiveness for his family.
Jay is survived by his parents, John and Ida Shoemaker; wife, Megan Snow Shoemaker; daughters, Alizia, McKenzie, Madilyn, and Melody; siblings, Stephanie (Andrew Weltch) Shoemaker, Samantha (Travis Sinor) Shoemaker, and Jaycen Shoemaker; nieces and nephews, Jaydn, Channing, Rayland, Steven, Liam, Jacub, and Asher; aunts, Lisa (Juan Sanchez) De La Rose, Leanna (John) Tatum, Jennifer (Eli) Bames, Brandie Ramirez, and Shannon Fautt; uncles, Jerry Townlin, and Derek (Robin) Townlin; best grandpa ever, Ronnie Townlin; and numerous cousins and friends.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life for Jay will be 1:00 pm, June 10, 2023 at Snow Church, 100 Marion County Road 3026, Yellville, Arkansas, 72687.
