John Jerome Kamis

John Jerome Kamis, born on April 21, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was surrounded by his beloved family during his final moments.

A man of varied interests, John found joy in fishing, where he cherished the quietness and beauty of nature. His love for knowledge and quick wit were evident in his fondness for playing Jeopardy and engaging with crossword puzzles, activities that stimulated his mind and brought a smile to his face. John also had a deep appreciation for plants and flowers, but most of all he enjoyed his music.

John is survived by his daughter; Karyn (Scott) Carroll; son, Richard (Tina) Kamis; brothers, Joe (Diane) Kamis, and Tony (Dawn) Kamis, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie Kamis; brother, Frank Kamis, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Kolar, and son, John Kamis, Jr..

Visitation will be at Modell Funeral Home, at 7710 South Cass Avenue, Darien, Illinois on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The family will meet at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 31, 2025 to process to Clarendon Hills Cemetery, 6900 South Cass Avenue, Darien, Illinois for graveside services.
