John David Livingston passed away May 2, 2020, in Lynchburg, Virginia, at the age of 92. He was born April 16, 1928, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of Joseph and Mae Livingston. He married Rachel on December 27, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana and was a senior consultant for United Nations (ILO, UNDP). John was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church in Forest, Virginia; and was a former Promise Keeper in Mountain Home, AR. Wherever he was, he always helped folks out with their computer challenges. He was a voracious reader, excellent cook, and loved listening to classical music. Over a period of 30 years, he lived and worked in Romania, Italy, Egypt, and Myanmar (Burma), and traveled with his wife extensively to even more places. John moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, from Myanmar in 1987. He lived in Forest, Virginia, since moving from Mountain Home, Arkansas, in 2013, to be with his daughter and son. He always insisted we bring him back to Mountain Home for visits as he loved his time there and had many friends who he would visit. He was a long-time member of East Side Baptist Church and loved working with the youth at church, and did so for many years.
John is survived by his daughter, Jennie Munson and son, Francis J. Livingston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and son, David Hall Livingston.
