John F. Lourim, age 93, Verona, WI formerly Mountain Home, AR died peacefully at his Wisconsin home on Thursday, July 10th, 2014.
He was born June 14, 1921 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Francis and Marian (Horning) Lourim. He married Helen Wood on February 22, 1941 in Jackson, MI. He earned his Engineering degree at the University of Michigan and was a self employed electrical engineer until his retirement. John was a proud U. S. Army veteran and served with the Signal Corp during WW2. He enjoyed golf, travel, gardening and fishing.
John is survived by: 3 sons- Stephen (Julie) Lourim of Coral Springs, FL, Timothy (Margaret) Lourim of Verona, WI, and David Lourim of Thiensville, WI; his son in law- Todd Dacquisto of Milwaukee, WI; his brother- Thomas (Mary Lou) Lourim of Jackson, MI; his sister Margaret (Lourim) Stivender of Bloomfield Hills, MI; sister in law- Edna Mae (Bill) Hirschfelt of Penryn, CA; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews; and his special friend and companion, Ruby Moan formerly of Mountain Home, AR.
He was preceded in death by: his parents-Francis and Marian Lourim; his wife-Helen Lourim; sons-William and John P Lourim; daughter- Lisa (Lourim) Dacquisto; brother- Robert Lourim and brother in law-Donald Stivender.
Entombment will be at Kirby Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in his name.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
