John O'Neill

John W. O'Neill was born July 5, 1911, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Lawrence and Mary Ellen Young O'Neill. He married Gay Lonergan, May 29, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. He worked at Continental Group Can Company as a lithographer for forty-six years. He lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1974, when he moved from Chicago, Illinois. As a youngster, Mr. O'Neill enjoyed boxing and running track. He also enjoyed fishing, and all activities of Saint Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, where he was a member. He felt his purpose in life was to make people happy. He was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Holy Name Society. John W. O'Neill passed away February 27, 2006, at the age of 94 years, 7 months and 22 days. Survivors: Several nieces and nephews, including Veronica Blake of Elwood, Illinois, Dennis O'Neill of Evergreen Park, Illinois, and John O'Neill of Rohnert Park, California Preceded in Death by: His parents, wife, four brothers and three sisters Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2006, Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral: A funeral mass for John W. O'Neill, 94, of Mountain Home will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 3, 2006, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend James Fanrak officiating. Burial: Entombment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum Memorials: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Active Bearers: John Blake, Dennis O'Neill, Tom Elder, Edward Moranz, Lawrence Noker, and John Chrenko
