John Turner

Jon-Eric was born at Memphis, Tennessee to Karen and Terry Hope. Jon-Erik was a missionary and taught English as a second language in Yuli, Taiwan He was a member of the Harrison swim team, the Ozark Chorale Society, a 4-H member, and a member of the Presidents Prayer team. Jon-Eric loved to hike, he won the Presidential Volunteer Award, and participated in the Jr. Olympics winning gold, bronze and silver medals. He dedicated his life and his work to Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Bull Shoals Baptist Church. Jon-Eric died June 30, 2007 in Guanshan, Taiwan at the age of 21 years, 10 months and 28 days. Survivors: He is survived by his parents Karen and Terry Hope, one sister, Breanna Hope, and one brother Ian Hope all of Harrison, Arkansas, maternal grandmother Frances Turner, his paternal Grandparents Winerford and Laura Hope and great-grandparents Floyd and Harvey Mae Bryant. He also had an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Preceded in Death by: His Grandfather Wilburn Turner and twin sisters, Katie and Sarah preceded him in death. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00P.M. on Monday July 16, 2007 at Bull Shoals Baptist Church. Funeral: A funeral service for Jon-Eric Hope will be Tuesday July 17th at 10:00 A.M at Eastside Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas with Pastor Jerry Backus officiating. Burial: Interment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home. Memorials: May be made to the Jon-Eric Hope Tragedy Fund at Arvest Bank. Honorary Bearers: Ian Hope and Iain Chao.
