John Voit

Services for Mr. John Voit of Mountain Home, AR, will be private. Mr. Voit died Saturday, July 18, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 87. He was born Thursday, May 18, 1922 in Straubing, Germany, son of Franz Xaver and Anna Grill Voit. He served in the German Army during WWII, and met Ruth Voelkel in 1947 at Straubing. They were married in his home town on July 15, 1950. After immigrating to America in 1956, he worked as an auto mechanic for 33 years in Chicago . John and Ruth left Chicago in 1987, choosing the peaceful life in Mountain Home. He was a quiet man with a good sense of humor; a nice man who treated his family well. Mr. Voit is survived by his Wife, Ruth Voit of Mountain Home, AR: Son, Norbert (Margaret) Voit of Evanston, IL; Grandsons, Thomas Voit and Patrick Voit; and Special Friend, Lois Grindly. He was preceded in death by his Parents, a brother, and 2 sisters. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
