John R. Young was born July 7, 1924, in Coal Hill, Arkansas. He was the son of Johnnie and Vesta Phillips Young. He married Rejeanne Young, June 28, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and Transportation Superintendent for the City of Detroit. Mr. Young lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since moving from Detroit in 1985. He enjoyed square dancing and helping people. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, B.P.O.E. #1714, Moose Lodge and the Alley-White American Legion Post #52. John R. Young died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Baxter Regional Medical Center, at the age of 81. Survivors: Two brothers, Don Young of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Pat Young of Detroit, Michigan; three sisters, Charlotte Williams of Detroit; Jean Jacobs of Detroit; and Mabel Mitchell of Rye Beach, New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews, including Michelle Massie of Mountain Home and Kelly Shrake of Gassville, Arkansas Preceded in Death by: His parents, wife and one sister Funeral: A memorial mass for John R. Young, 81, of Mountain Home will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2006, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend James Fanrak officiating.
