Johnnie Russell died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 90. He was born Friday, February 7, 1918 in Baxter County, Arkansas, the son of Anderson Dock and Jessie Hand Russell. He married Minnie Cox on August 15, 1945 at Mountain Home, Arkansas and worked as a carpenter. Johnnie Russell was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He lived in Highlands Ranch since 2001 moving from California. Survivors: Johnnie Russell is survived by his wife, Minnie Russell, 2 daughters, Lynda Engelke of Denver, CO and Paula (Robert) Bell of Highlands Ranch, CO, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Friday, June 6 at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral services for Johnnie Harold "Hal" Russell of Highlands Ranch, CO, formerly of Baxter Co., will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2008 at East Oakland Church of Christ, with Brother Ken Burton officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Quality Ridge Cemetery, Mountain Home, Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Ozark VFW Post #3246.
