Joseph Francis Grisco, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on October 7, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 88. He was born March 21, 1928, on his family farm, in Benton, Pennsylvania, the son of George and Anna Patrick Grisco. Joseph was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Betty Lewis on January 30, 1960, at Homer, Alaska, and was a communications engineer for Federal Electric Corporation/ITT. His career took him all over the world to set up radar and satellites, which at times required top secret government clearance. He retired from FEC/ITT in 1986. He was called out of retirement to work on special radar communications at Edwards Air Force Base. Joe lived in Mountain Home since moving from California in 1989. He was a member of the Elks in Mountain Home, and in California. He enjoyed fishing and was a HAMM Radio Operator, so the Key of WB6AGG is now silent.
Joseph leaves behind his wife, Betty Grisco of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Melissa DeBacker of California; son, Bob (Cindy) Ferguson of Mountain Home; grandchildren, Pamela Ann Farrar (Nick), Tanya Mercado (James), Bobby Ferguson, Joseph Martin and Renee Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ian, and Hannah Farrar, Rachel, Noah, Sammy and Moses Mercado, Brie Blevins, and Paige Wyatt; and a great-great-grandson, William Blevins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ed, John, Henry, Clarence, and Eleanor; daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Tyke" Grisco; and daughter,Janis Cooper.
A Memorial Service for Joseph Francis Grisco, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be held at a later date in California.
Memorials may be made to a charitable organization of choice.
