Joseph Ralph Hogan, Jr., 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida. Joseph was born on July 2, 1934, in Cotter, Arkansas, to Joseph and Mary Fowler Hogan. He graduated from Cotter High School and obtained a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas. He married Deva Jo Brainerd on June 2, 1952 in Cotter, Arkansas. He was best known for being an outdoorsman; he was an avid hunter and fisherman. During his time in Florida, he served on the board of directors for the Jacksonville Public Library.
He is survived by son, Joseph Ralph Hogan, III of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Mary Ruth Halvorsen of Bryceville, FL; five grandchildren, Mark Joseph Halvorsen, II, Brendon Ray Halvorsen, Andrew Ryan Hogan, Christopher Joseph Hogan, and Melissa Larue; and three great-grandchildren, Ava, Shelby, and Samwise.
He is preceded in death by parents and wife of 56 years, Deva Jo Hogan.
Joseph Ralph Hogan, Jr. will be laid to rest beside his wife Deva in the Gassville Cemetery, in Gassville, Arkansas.
