Joseph E. Mahoney

March 2, 1943 — October 20, 2016

A Memorial Service for Joseph Emmett Mahoney of Gassville, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Mike Clark officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honor Guard. Burial will be private, in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.

Joseph passed away October 20, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 73. He was born March 2, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Patrick and Lorraine Nester Mahoney. He married Suzanne LaChappelle on September 21, 1975, at Glendale, California and worked in air conditioning. Joseph was a U.S. Navy veteran. Joseph lived in Gassville since moving from California, in 1990. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mountain Home. He enjoyed working on computers and running the Fancy Flea Market in Gassville, with his wife Suzanne.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Suzanne Mahoney of Gassville, AR; son, Ted Mahoney of Gassville, AR; daughter, Kim Wheeler-Hildreth of Harvard, MA; daughter, Michele (Mike Ward) Mahoney of Broken Bow, OK; son, David Mahoney of NC; four grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Sabrina, and Tory; sister, Maureen May of Prescott, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
