A Funeral Service for Joseph Owen Middleton of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Donette Boyett, Family Service Coordinator for Hospice of the Ozarks, officiating. Visitation will also be Tuesday, from 9:00 am, until time of service.
Joe passed away June 11, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born October 19, 1930, in Laurel, Mississippi, the son of Owen and Eloise Cooper Middleton. He married Bettye Rainey on March 7, 1952, in San Diego, California and was an elevator constructor and a boat builder. During the Korean War, in the United States Navy, he was an X-ray Technician aboard the hospital ship, Repose. After moving from Orange County, California, he lived in Bruno, Arkansas from 2001-2012 and then in Mountain Home for the past five years.
Joe is survived by his wife, Bettye Middleton of Mountain Home, AR; two daughters, Pamela Graves and Susan Nemeth, both of St. Joe, AR; his sister, Martha Baldwin, of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Pamela Doty, of Mountain Home, AR, Joseph Tierney, of Canyon Lake, CA, Jennifer Schubert, of Sherman Oaks, CA, Nicholas Markanjevic, of Clever, MO, David Cochran, of Carl Junction, MO and Theodore Spieker, of Mountain Home, AR; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will be in the Bruno Cemetery, Bruno, Arkansas, with Joseph Tierney, Nicholas Markanjevic, David Cochran, Theodore Spieker, Jeff Graves, Carl Doty and Ted Spieker as pallbearers.
Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
