A Visitation for Joseph Michael Sliepka, Sr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas will be Saturday, January 6, 2018, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Joseph passed away January 3, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 94. He was born April 28, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sliepka. He worked as a carpenter and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Joseph lived in Mountain Home since 2013, moving from Houston, Texas. He enjoyed camping, fishing, cruising and playing cards. He loved to travel and has been to five of the seven continents. He was proud of his grandchildren's accomplishments in academics and sports. He was a hospital volunteer at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Alan) Dyson of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, Joseph (Shirley) Sliepka and Robert (Ergene Parker) Sliepka both of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Joseph III, Michael and Jonathon and lifelong best friend since grade school and military service, Johnny Buda of Chicago, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mildred and Nancy.
