Joseph Stein

Mr. Stein died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the age of 79. He was born Thursday, July 18, 1929 in Covington, Kentucky, son of Joseph W. Stein II and Louise Curtis. He married Eleanor Byrd on February 25, 2005 at Midway, AR . He was a U.S. Marine for 22 years, a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam . He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He also retired from the US Postal Service after 22 years. He was a loving husband and father. Survivors: Joseph Stein is survived by his wife, Eleanor Stein and daughters, Lynnette (David) Brown of Tehachapi, CA, and Susan Stein of Lakeview, AR; and his granddaughter, Devery Brown of Tehachapi, CA. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald, and the mother of his children, Phyllis Stein. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral: Funeral Services for GySgt Joseph William Stein III, USMC retired, of Norfork, AR, will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Max Pyron and Reverend Dr. David Johnson officiating. Burial: Burial will be Friday, March 6 in the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
