A Celebration of Life for Joseph Volltrauer of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Friday, September 25, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Joseph passed away September 18, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 98. He was born March 2, 1917, in Montana, the son of Joseph and Anna Miller Volltrauer. He married Margaret Beierle on November 23, 1937, in Yugoslavia. Joseph owned apartment buildings in Chicago and was a tool maker. Joseph lived in Mountain Home since moving from Chicago, Illinois. He enjoyed working on his farm, gardening, building and playing pool. Joseph loved driving and traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Joseph is survived by his two sons, Joseph V. (Erwine) Volltrauer of Mountain Home, AR and Hermann (Erika) Volltrauer of Monroe Township, NJ; five grandchildren, Helga (Dana) Friedland of Mountain Home, AR, Brigitte Volltrauer-Shipman of Mountain Home, AR, Heidi (Curtis) Volltrauer-Skiver of Mountain Home, AR, Joseph (Laura) Volltrauer, and Phillip Volltrauer and eleven great-grandchildren, Erik, Katharina, and Annika Friedland, Joseph and Jakob Shipman, Allison, Katie, Kaylin, Christopher, Rebecca and Nicholas Volltrauer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Anna and Linna.
Burial will be private in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
