Joseph J. Voorhees was born December 12, 1926, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was the son of Joseph J. and Cleo Whitford Voorhees. He was a journalist for the cosmetics industry. Mr. Voorhees was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict who lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas twenty years, moving from New York, New York. He loved theatre, was active in the Twin Lakes Playhouse, and directed some plays. He was an avid reader, a member of the Literacy Council, and volunteered at Baxter County Juvenile Services. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Mountain Home. Joseph J. Voorhees passed away March 2, 2006, at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 20 days.
