Joseph Winters

Mr. Winters died Saturday, June 26, 2004 at Care Manor Nursing Home. He was 93. He was born July 25, 1910, at Dresdon, Tennessee, to Willie Thomas and Thomas W. McClain Winters. He married Blanche Aline Nelson on December 27, 1934 at Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was a Cabinet Maker and Building Contractor for Los Angeles Housing. Mr. Winters had lived in Mountain Home for 37 years, moving from California. He was a Deacon of First Assembly of God Church, and loved to sing in the Choir, he also enjoyed gardening and trout fishing. Survivors: He is survived by wife, Blanche, 2 daughters, Barbara G. Winters-LaPort of West Plains, Missouri, and Alma Jean OÂ?Briant of Searcy, Arkansas, 3 sisters, Lola Lary of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Joan Hopkins of Jonesboro, and Lottie E. Heath of California, 7 Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Charles O. Winters, and 3 sisters, Carrie Hopkins, Willie L. Downs, and Alma B. Brown. Visitation: Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 30 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral: Funeral Service for Joseph Wallace Winters of Mountain Home will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ed Nelson, Jr. officiating. Burial: Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
