A Private Family Celebration of Life for Josephine "Jo" Hurst Smith of Gepp, Arkansas, will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 18, 2015 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Lynn Beck officiating.
Jo passed away peacefully at her home September 15, 2015, in Gepp, Arkansas at the age of 75. She was born September 28, 1939, in Steele, Missouri, the daughter of Jake and Verna Taylor Hurst. She married Joel F. Smith on December 31, 1999, at Harrison, Arkansas and was a homemaker. Jo lived in Gepp since 2000, moving from Henderson, Arkansas. She loved the outdoors from childhood, fishing, bird watching and flower gardening.
Jo is survived by her husband, Joel F Smith of Gepp, AR; son, Tony W. (Vickie) Smith of Rector, AR; two daughters, Pamela Smith of Rogersville, MO and Darla Smith of Gepp, AR six grandchildren, Michael, Danielle, Jacob, Gary, Sebastian and Steffan three sisters, Brenda Gunnells of SC, Barbara O'Tinger of MO, and Clara "Dean" Boone of MO, and numerous loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last few months.
