Josephine Miller

d. January 1, 2006

Josephine M. Miller (Dolly) died at her home in Mountain Home on Sunday, 19 January. She was born a Catholic in New York City November 18 to John and Maria Taddeo. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Miller of Arlington, TX; one brother Ralph Taddeo and four sisters, Jo Frederick, Teresa Glaser, Olympia Rau, and Mary Lou Heintz all of New York. Dolly and her husband Tom, who predeceased her in 1988, retired to Mountain Home in 1968. While stationed at Little Rock A.F.B., they made frequent trips to fish the North Fork River beginning in 1956. Besides being an avid trout fisherman, she enjoyed playing golf at Twin Lakes Golf Course. She was a Charter Member of the Twin Lakes Golf Association and a member of the Twin Lakes Ladies' Golf Club. She also served as a Democratic Committee Member for over twenty-five years and was a permanent fixture on voting day at the polls. Her biggest claim to fame came in 1969 when American International Pictures came to the Ozarks to film "Bloody Mama." It starred Shelley Winters and newcomer, Robert DeNiro. She was hired as an "extra" but her picture wound up on the movie poster and the record album. Funeral: A Funeral Mass for Josephine M.
